I love contemporary French cuisine and La Mouette in Sea Point has been one of my favourite restaurants in Cape Town for the longest time so to hear that the same team has launched another eatery is like music to my ears. Located on Green Point’s Main road, Upper Bloem serves up a sharing dining experience with a seasonally inspired menu. The 40 seater restaurant is perfect for an intimate night out especially as the crisp refreshing seasonal changes take the mother city into winter. The focus is on local produce and the composition of the ingredients draws inspiration from Cape Towns mix of cultures, think Cape Malay influenced options like Saldahna Bay Muscles with spekboom, samosa crisps, smokes snoek, lightly cured kabeljou brought together with that wow factor that head chef Andrew Hill has become known for. Opening times: Tuesday Lunch, Wednesday-Saturday lunch and dinner.
