Now in its ninth year already, one of the highlights of the Cape Town summer social calendar, the Cintron Pink Polo returns to its home at Val de Vie Estate on Saturday 3 November. The dress code for this year has been announced as emerald green and pink with touches of gold.
If you're a first time visitor to Cape Town or you've just never checked out the event, I'll break it down for you. The Pink Polo was started in 2010 with the aim of enjoying some polo while supporting worthy causes that make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer but even if you're not that much into the polo, its still a great excuse to get creative with the dress code and party with the locals. There are also usually some kick ass private afterparties at villas in the area and along the Atlantic Seaboard where you're guaranteed to have some interesting adventures but that's a blog post for another lifetime.
So Val de Vie Estate itself is quite a sight to behold already - especially if you're unfamilar with the terrain. It's basically a gated residential community with an impressive Polo club and a golf course with elegant housing. The architecture is kind of French Provençal fused with Cape Dutch and then there are beautiful vineyards, farms and immaculate gardens and lakes - and this is just the backdrop to the event.
There are also a range of fashion, food and entertainment attractions which livens up the mood besides the usual beautiful people so it’s a fun day out whether you're into the sport or just looking to kick back and relax with some delicious South African wines on offer. Have a look at the clip below for an idea of what to expect.
Pink Polo VIP tickets R1750 (around Dhs430 - a bit hard to pin point cause the rand has been dropping lately) it includes butler service, premium bar, flowing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and canape catering. There is also communal seating available on the Pavilion for R660 (around Dhs160) and access to a cash bar and some snacks. If you're a large group of 30+ guests or want a more private experience of I'd recommend a Private VIP Lounge, you can call the number below for more details. For more of a party/mingling vibe, the usual Pink Polo VIP tickets are a good option as it guarantees seating.
