Unpinning ourselves from the material world while still having goals and objectives is a philosophical struggle that many of us face, like having to choose between a mindful choice and a convenient one. I'll save the dmc for another day (or a therapist) but what I'm saying is, it's nice to be able to support something where you don't have to choose and can just enjoy while helping the planet in the process. This is why I'd like to introduce an impressive new fashion label called The Giving Movement who are using recycled materials to make some of the freshest threads I've seen in a while. This fitness and streetwear label was launched online just over a week ago here in Dubai and they appear to making an impact already. Below I've rounded up my top 5 reasons to love this kick ass concept:

  • Even if you’re not into guilt-free, sustainable fashion, you would still want to be seen in these outfits as the styles are so on point.  The designs are clean, minimalist and the colourways are on trend. It’s also the first clothing brand to be both designed and made locally in the UAE.

  • The fabric itself is made of organic bamboo and recycled water bottles to minimise the strain on the environment plus the packaging is made from corn starch meaning it biodegrades completely within 3-12 months unlike plastic which can take up to 1000 years.

  • The Giving Movement has partnered with HH Sheikh Mohammed’s charity, Dubai cares and donates $4 from each purchase which is enough to provide food, daily shelter and education for a full week to one child in need.

  • With a vision like “Small acts multiplied by many people can transform the world” you would be hard pressed to not agree with the message of hope and conscious decision making especially during this COVID-19 pandemic when we've had nothing but time to reflect on our choices and how it affects those around us whether its washing hands or supporting small businesses.

  • There is a men's, women's and modest wear collection and they will be launching inclusive sizing options later this year. All the pieces are limited edition so you can see the total amount of items produced which is printed on your garment. For example 1 of 350  (as seen in the top image).

  • A bonus reason The Giving Movement is a kickass concept is that the brand has signed off with mega Middle East online retailer Namshi so enjoying guilt free fashion will be a click away very soon. Cant wait!
