Victoria’s Secret is in trouble.

The tea has been simmering away in the background but latest sales figures have finally confirmed the worst. It looks like Victoria's Secret might not be around for much longer.

Word is that since they dropped their swimsuit and apparel line in 2016, Victoria's Secret’s sales have declined consistently during every single month in 2017 as reported by WWD.

Another potential reason according to Forbes might be that the brands unrealistic representations of the female body could be seen as "off message" for today's market.

It’s kind of ironic that the company who has made its name by giving girls something to aspire to may now have to change their look to adapt to the markets perception of a real body. Especially in an age where it's all about being relateable and hugging out your imperfections as seen with lingerie brands like Aerie who uses real women models and un-retouched images. Here are some of their items.

In an article from the Wall Street Journal, CEO Lesley Wexler predicts that online shopping is not the future of retail and that people will get over their attachment to smartphones. Hmm... uh-oh, I'm just going to leave his opinion to marinade right there.

In any case Victoria's Secret has always been one of my favourite brands so I hope they can pull themselves together and get out of this mess asap.

In the meantime feel free shop some of my favourite picks from Victoria's Secret Online  below - from the comfort of your smartphone.

I had no idea that they were not going too well! An interesting post. I have always loved the look of their products, but have never purchased any - to be honest.

So long ago I stop buying their lingerie as it is not comfortable I guess people is focused more on comfort and having a relationship with a brand that feels more closer to their lifestyle and beliefs.

Wow I had no idea they'd dropped the swimwear line, and definitely didn't know they were struggling. Makes sense though, many stores are struggling lately. Especially those with brick and mortar stores.

Never thought of that big brands like Vicotria Secret also face this problem. Many of our friend using their lingerie but they never discussed the this. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think that Victoria Secret will ever die as a company. They will probably just adapt to the new trends. I do have quite a few pieces from them, including a stunning dress.

I have to admit they are a company I have never really bought from. They aren't so big over here, though I think there are a few shops around the country.

I've never been in Victoria's Secret, I don't think they have a shop in Northern Ireland. It's a shame, their stuff looks really nice.

This is fascinating and I had no idea about Victorias Secret. I had always assumed they were doing such a good job. I heard they were bringing swim suits back too.

Interesting. I never really bought a lot from them because I found everything overpriced.

I worked for Victoria's Secret when I was in high school and college about 20 years ago...back then the customers I worked with were ladies in their 30s and 40s. I think they lost focus on their target customer. I still like to check out and see what they have though !

This seems unfortunate. I actually like Victoria Secrets for some reason even though I’m not their target.

Wow! I can’t imagine VS going out of business! They are very over priced and there are so many companies that can compete with their prices and style

I stopped shopping there years ago, after I had my kids. They need to be more inclusive or they will continue to lose customers.
