I’m not saying I’m obsessed with the latest beauty products but if my parents knew how often I visited Sephora, they would be jealous. Beauty and cosmetic giants have been upping their game big time which isn't surprising considering the market is worth over USD 2.6 billion in the UAE alone. These are some of the hottest apps, gadgets and beauty technology to look forward to this year. Virtual Make Up Mirror Imagine looking into a mirror and seeing what your make up will look like without even reaching for that eyeliner. Charlotte Tilbury launches in Dubai Mall on 28 June and thats exactly her magic mirror will do. Thanks to face mapping a camera installed in the mirror with capture your features and digitally superimpose make up onto your face so you can see how it looks without removing your exsiting make up. You can also move around freely and the makeup moves as you do in a truly interactive makeover. Welcome to the future. Read: Bottega Veneta's New Flagship Store has opened in Dubai. Skin Advancements There are two other skin analysis advancements which have piqued my interest this year. The first is Hi Skin which is an add on to Hi Mirror (this does a personalised analysis of your skin when you snap a photo). Hi Skin evaluates the skins cuticle moisture, subcutaneous pigmentation dark circles and acne scars and will give you tips on how to remedy it. The second is an app from the people behind Youcam and Perfect Corp. All you have to do is take a selfie and it will assess your skin, record it in the Skin Diary section of the app and you can use this to monitor which products are improving your skin over time. Sounds good to me. If you're looking to try some ethically made vegan beauty products and services in Dubai, click here.
