Setting the scene
If you've visited La Mer in the last 8 months it would've been difficult to miss the face of a chiselled 48 000 square foot beauty called Train Beach Club gazing out from across the ocean with its luxury cabanas on its own private beach.
Now, before I am outed for being biased, I should start off by letting you know this is not one of my usual beach club reviews as I am part of the operations team at Train Beach club and that's why I'm very to introduce you guys to the concept and give you the inside scoop to make the most of your time here.
I've been in the nightclubs/beach clubs/restaurant hospitality game since I was legal, so it has been a minute and with this in mind I will say that this has been one of the most unique concepts I've ever been involved with for reasons I will get into shortly.
Setting the mood
Train Beach Club has hospitality and fitness elements which brought together in a way that makes it very special. It consists of an Origin 33 Restaurant & Lounge, a private beach & pools, a shisha area as well as a fully equipped Train SF gym, juice bar, boxing and yoga studio. People often ask why we combined a licensed beach club and shisha with a fully equipped gym. And the reason is quite simple, it’s all about having everything at your fingertips for an experience that lacks nothing.
Its an environment where you can soak up the surroundings however you like and if for you that means going for a power 6am workout with a healthy breakfast or a later start to your day with brunch at 12pm, with turkey bacon, pancakes and bubbly, feel free. If you like you can spend your afternoons at the pool with prosecco popsicles and shisha and getting some meetings done in the contemporary chic lounge or try a boxing class with microchipped punch counter technology to track your progress the beach club offers this too. There's also sunset yoga to round off your sunbathing sessions and the perfect space for romantic candlelight dinners.
It is mainly a members club but those in Dubai for shorter stays are welcome to make use of a day pass instead. The vibe is social and service orientated the main idea is to feel like you have every need catered to with a team that takes the time to know the preferences of every membership holder, from the way you like your latte or your favourite salmon dish.
Setting the table
On the subject of food, here's a bit on the in house restaurant, Origin 33 Restaurant & Lounge where you'll experience healthy food that tastes pretty phenomenal too.
What’s on the menu? The short answer: Everything. I'm talking pizza, small bites, seafood, sushi, burgers and grills and its good to know that everything from the almond butter to the freshly baked gluten free bread is made in house, and originates from the kitchen, hence the name, "Origin". Breakfast is served throughout the day so whether you want piping hot choc chip pancakes at 8am or 5pm, you are always welcome.
Some of the bestsellers include salmon poke bowls, acai topped with tropical fruit and a generous dollop of home made peanut butter, delicately seared salmon and smokey paprika wagyu beef. For the not so hungry you can expect small bites such as cheesy jalapeno poppers and avo fries served with beet hummus - best washed down with some after work craft hops or a signature beverages. Yes, Train Beach Club is licensed. And for desser? how about some decadent brownies lovingly smothered in melted chocolate or refreshingly Matcha Tiramisu. Every diet is catered to from dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian, pescatarian and vegan.
Pictured above is the juice bar. A social space where the coffee is as strong as the wifi. The juice bar snacks, are perfected in the Train Beach Club kitchen and includes a delicious life changing selection of peanut butter balls, raw donuts, vegan cheesecake and quinoa protein bars made fresh daily.
Pictured above: Infinity pool loungers, daybeds and palms makes this picture-perfect setting in the day you've got the backdrop of breathtaking ocean views and by night, a sparkling skyline with the Burj Khalifa.
Fully equipped, sleek and state of the art are all the words that comes to mind when describing the fitness area. This is not just a beach club with "a gym". The entire Train Beach Club facility is the hospitality branch of the Train SF group which also holds the title of owning the biggest unisex gym in the UAE at the flagship Al Quoz branch. Train SF also has branches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Mall too and signing up for a membership at Train Beach will make you feel like you have the keys to the kingdom by allowing you access to all Train SF branches in the UAE.
