I personally am not vegan but I can definitely relate to the struggle of finding great vegan food restaurants. Lately it feels like more and more people in Dubai are choosing a vegan lifestyle which can make social plans with your favourite vegan bestie a bit of a challenge. Choosing a restaurant that can satisfy your tastebuds while still offering enough vegan options to keep your friends happy can feel like mission impossible so I’ve compiled a list of my top picks for restaurants. These are either fully vegan or have a decent amount of menu options for vegans in Dubai. If you've discovered any other amazing vegan dining options then feel free to mention them in the comments.
Super Natural Kitchen boasts a menu that is 100 percent raw, vegan, gluten free, sugar free and preservative free and luckily it’s not taste free. In fact, it’s very delicious! It’s situated in the Galeries Lafayette gourmet section and the menu includes dining options such as puttanesca pasta and macadamian ricotta, raw vegan lasagne along with a number pizza, pasta and sushi options - all vegan and gorgeous desserts like mint chocolate caramel bars and chocolate ginger tart.
Lebanese restaurant, Kababji Grill can be found in various locations whether you’re living in the Marina, Business Bay, Mirdirf as well as Motor City. It's vegan menu has options like stuffed grape leaves with pomegranate syrup, Raheb salad, Fattoush, Oriental salad, Quinoa Tabbouleh and of course the regular Lebanese options like labneh, fries, cubed potatoes and so on.
LifenOne is a chilled out yet vibrant cafe and a personal favourite for me whether grabbing a quick bite or catching up with my friends. Delicious offerings include vegan burgers, sushi wraps, avo on toast, soups and various salads. Besides, anywhere that serves all day breakfast options is a winner in my eyes.
Carluccios has some amazing Italian vegan options such as penne arrabiatta, spaghetti al pomodoro e basilico and beetroot salad. There are also a range of starters and appetizers and of course, my favourite part of a meal, dolce! Here it consists of refreshing fruit salad and sorbet options.
Freedom Pizza has something going for it that is guaranteed to thrill your vegan buddies - vegan cheese! There are tasty pizzas options like the Free-gan (red sauce, vegan cheese, cilantro, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions, jalapeno and bell peppers) and the Mother Earth (Red sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, spinach, mixed bell peppers, mushroom, garlic onions) and of course you're welcome to create your own as well.
Below are two other great vegan recommendations that I haven’t personally tried but are worth a mention.
Myocum is vegan friendly and pet friendly (puppies!!!) which means extra bonus points in my books. The establishment is situated in Al Wasl Mall and one of the major drawcards I'm told is their dairy free cheeseboard. Check out: Myocum
Circle Cafe has recently introduced a vegan menu and although it currently has only four options, which I hope will be expanded in future, the vegan Cauliflower and BBQ chickpea flatbread is the bomb dot com. Check out Circle Cafe
